Brazil Reaches US$ 1.02 Billion in Bean and Sesame Exports in 2025 as Sesame Overtakes Beans for the First Time

In 2025, Brazil’s combined bean and sesame supply chain generated US$ 1.02 billion in FOB revenue and shipped 1.07 million tonnes, up 48.9% from 2024. For the first time, sesame surpassed beans in revenue, accounting for 56.6% of the total compared with 43.4% for beans.

Growth was led by China, which imported US$ 195 million in sesame, up 41.3% from 2024. For beans, India remained the leading destination with 57.8% of revenue, or US$ 256.3 million, while Mato Grosso led national sourcing with 40.7% of revenue. The 2026 forecast ranges from US$ 1.00 billion to US$ 1.10 billion.
